New Plans - Seeing the wood through the trees!

As you may well know, recently imposed EU regulations mean that the UK networks can no longer charge more than €0.70/MB in Europe. However the consumer propositions delivered by the UK networks aren't as clear. So we thought we would try and help you see the wood from the trees.

O2 EU Data Roaming Offer

  • O2 Travel - £1.99 for 25MB, per 24 hours
  • Out of bundle/Opted out cost is £0.69/MB, operates outside of roaming cap

Vodafone EU Data Roaming Offer 

  • Euro Traveller - £3 per day to use normal contract. Available for pay Monthly customers only.
  • Data Traveller - is the default for PAYG, priced at £2.25 for 25MB per day.
  • Out of bundle/Opted out cost is £0.69/MB, operates outside of roaming cap

Three EU Data Roaming Offer 

  • Euro Internet Pass - £5 per day, unlimited data
  • Out of bundle/Opted out cost is £0.69/MB, operates outside of roaming cap

Orange EU Data Roaming Offer 

  • 30 day 30MB + 50 minutes +100 texts: £15 (until Aug 5 - then £20)  
  • Out of bundle/Opted out cost is £0.69/MB, operates outside of roaming cap

T-Mobile 

  • Booster packs starting from £1 for 3MB 
  • Out of bundle/Opted out cost per MB: Not possible

Unlike its rivals, T-Mobile will not allow its customers to roam at all without purchasing its bundle. 

So what does all this mean to you?

In hard cash, roughly £750 per year if you're a business user and £160 per year if you are a holiday maker. However, be warned, the new caps only apply to use withing the EU. However you should be alerted by text, email or pop-up window if you are likely to spend over €50.00 on data downloads.

What if I want more than a few MB's?

The best option for heavy users if our range of 30-day data SIM cards. For example our French 30 Day Data SIM will provide you with 3GB of data for just £49.99. It will also allow you to cap your costs so that you know you are only going to be charged £49.99 and no nasty surprises are lurking around the corner.
