The International Pre-Paid Data SIM card is indeed exactly that; prepaid. Therefore you’re always in control of your spend. However, we would always recommend that you manage your data consumption closely to avoid any "bill shock" or prepaid credit rapidly being used up. Once used up the data service will disconnect and you will need to add credit.
Minimum data sessions are 1MB increments and your account can be checked by logging into your Ekit on-line account or by contacting customer services on the numbers detailed in your user guide.
Your initial data bundle is valid for 14 days and subsequent top up bundles remain valid for 14-30 days, depending on bundle size, before expiring. Credit is not rolled forward. When you purchase and additional data bundle it is not activated until either your existing credit is used up or it expires after 30 days - at that point the new bundle becomes active. Your on-line account will enable you to monitor data usage and expiry deadlines. Adding a different zone bundle will immediately replace your existing bundle.
No. However, it will expire 12 months after the last use so please enure you top up if you want to prolong the life of the SIM.
To top up you log-in to your on-line account and select and pay for the data bundle you require. It is then automatically assigned to your account and is ready for use once any existing credit expires. Your on-line account will enable you to track your data usage and how long your credit is valid for. Further travel applications are available to download which will help you manage your account.
The SIM will operate in 120 countries with more being added soon. Please ensure your device is appropriate for the destination you plan to visit (e.g. tri-band for the USA and 3G for Japan.) Coverage is extensive in most destinations but is not gauranteed, so please check if you are in any doubt ahead of purchase.
The international data SIM will work in a MiFi, tablet & USB device or lap top. Tethering is possible although not guaranteed and varies with each device. Additional support from the network customer support team can be provided, but for tethering we'd always recommend the use of a mifi.
