How does the Toggle SIM card work?

All you need to do is ensure that your mobile handset is unlocked and then simply switch your UK SIM card for the European SIM card. The SIM card works on a Pay-As-You-Go basis therefore in order to continue to use the SIM card you must purchase top-up vouchers online or over the phone. 

To make sure you avoid all roaming charges you must select the correct profile for the Home Country on arrival. On your handset, go to Toggle Mobile Menu --> Toggle --> Select Mode --> Manual --> Select the country where you are. 

Please note the default profile is the UK Profile. On some handsets, after changing profiles, you may need to restart your phone to activate it. 

How do I configure my Smartphone for Toggle & data?

The easiest way to do this is to use the brilliant application from Tweakker. This brilliant FREE application will automatically configure your iPhone or Android handset. And best of all since Toggle works in the UK you can do it before you travel abroad!

What are the APN settings?

  • APN: 
  • Username:  lmuk
  • Password: plus

This is the same for all countries on the Toggle Network.  Please be aware that you must have a local number in each country where you require data service and some phones will delete the APN settings when you roam between countries.  If you find your data is not working

How do I get a local number for use abroad?

Set up and register your new SIM before you travel. This is very easy. Firstly you need to log-in to your account:

o    Choose "Togglemobile local"

o    Register for the country you plan to visit to get a local number.

Please allow 3 hours for the registration process to complete. (IMPORTANT: please make sure that before you register for a local Toggle number, your SIM card is inserted into the mobile phone and has network signal.)

Credit or debit card details will be taken only once you request the local number for registration mandatory countries (France, Germany, Switzerland, Spain, Australia, Norway)

You will receive a text message with your local number and you can also see it on your account. Your new local number is valid for 30 days from the date of issue and will expire after 30 days. A new local number can be obtained upon expiry or you may opt to pay the annual retention fee of £5.00 to keep your number (see below.)

What are the benefits of a local number over the UK number?

In over 60 countries you can avoid roaming charges for incoming calls. Additionally, in the Toggle mobile countries, you can call nationally and internationally without any roaming charges. To benefit from this you need to have a local number from the Toggle country you are travelling to.

 E.g. If travelling to Spain, there are two options:

 1) You can travel without registering for a local Spanish number. Once in Spain you will still receive free incoming calls but if you want to call a Spanish number, a UK number or any other number, you will pay roaming charges.

2) You can register for the local Spanish number. Once in Spain, you will receive calls for free and you can also call the UK from 3p/min, call any Spanish number from 3p/min, call any other toggle mobile country from 3p/min and call outside the Toggle mobile countries from 4p/min.

Can I transfer my current UK number to Toggle?

Yes you can. To transfer your existing mobile number to toggle, simply contact your existing mobile service provider and ask for your PAC code. Once you have your PAC code, please contact Toggle Customer Services who will activate the transfer for you

How much does it cost to call the SIM from the UK?

One of the major advantages of the Toggle European SIM card is that you can receive calls on the UK +44 (0)74… Toggle mobile number wherever you are in the world! This means that it will only cost the person calling you the price to call a UK mobile number. If you are calling the SIM on one of the foreign local numbers then please check as costs will reflect the international call rate.

Also many of the UK mobile network operators will allow cross-network inclusive minutes to be used to call the SIM. However we would always recommend that you check with your UK network operator first to establish their rates or check if it is part of their inclusive minute bundle.

Can I have more than one number live and be contacted on it?

Thanks to the unique multi-number facility, the Toggle mobile SIM card can support up to 9 numbers, all active at the same time. Which means that wherever you are, your contacts will be able to reach you on all your numbers. E.g. If you have a French number and a Danish number, they can send you texts and call you on both numbers. Remember you can also be always contacted on your UK number wherever you are.

What is the validity on the credit and SIM card?

Once activated a call or top up must be made within 90 days of activation or the last call to keep the SIM, credit and number active. After 90 days of non-use you will receive a message from Toggle reminding you to top-up. If you do not use or top-up the SIM for a period of 120 days it will permanently expire.

o    Failure to do so mean the SIM, credit and number will expire and cannot be re-instated or refunded.

o    If you want to keep your foreign number and are not in the country, for example you have returned to the UK, you can pay £5.00 a year to keep the number. This can be done online via your Toggle account annually.

How do I Top-Up?

You can buy top-up vouchers online. All you need to do is:

  • Register your toggle European SIM card online. 
  • Top-up your mobile instantly online using a debit or credit card. 
  • To top-up your balance while you are abroad: Dial +44 7438 646321 and follow the instructions

How do I check my balance?

To check your balance using your toggle SIM, either: Enter *131#, press send, and your balance will shown on your mobile phone screen or Dial 321 and listen to your balance. To check your balance while you are abroad: Dial +44 7438 646321

How do I access voicemail?

Your toggle voicemail service has been automatically activated. To access your voicemail just dial; 121 or +44 7438 646121 

Using your Toggle voicemail you can: 

  • Listen to messages left for you 
  • Record a personalised welcome message
  • Select your preferred language

How do I call customer services?

  • You can contact toggle Customer Services 8.00am – 8.00pm 7 days a week.
  • Dial 322 from your mobile Dial 02071 322322 from another phone 
  • Dial +44 7438 646322 from abroad

How do I get my PUK code?

Your PUK number can be found on the back of your SIM card holder. Alternatively you can call customer services on 322 from your toggle SIM and a member of the customer services team will be glad to help you.
